Holiday Revival: Home Spa Day

Spa DayPlaces to go, people to see, and gifts to buy. It’s a busy season, and all too often our physical and emotional health pay the price. What we all really need right now is some indulgent relaxation, but a day at the spa may not be feasible due to time, not to mention budget.

Our answer? A bit of pampering at home that’s not only blissful to the soul, but also easy on the wallet. Here are just a few ideas to get you started – we’ve chosen rituals that you should be able to perform with supplies found in your home. Pick and choose activities for a customized session that fits your personality, schedule, and supplies:

Light some candles. Because candles make everything more relaxing. Bonus points for spa-inspired scents.

Do a little yoga. Not a seasoned yogi? No problem. Hit YouTube for a wealth of yoga videos and find one perfect for you. Or try this 20-minute routine that’s perfect for your home spa day: Detox Yoga from Yoga With Adriene.

Make a healthy drink. Take a pitcher and fill it with water topped off with fresh fruit and herbs – try sliced strawberry or lemon with mint. Or, fill your blender with fresh or frozen fruit and a few handfuls of leafy greens like spinach or kale – it’s the perfect antidote to holiday overindulgence.

Give yourself a facial treatment.
